The scenario that Fabrizia Frezza occurred during the survey for this restoration was an old farmhouse of the XVII century, located on the top of the Orcia Valley, in Tuscany, in front of the city of Pienza. The owner, Tonino Cacace, patron of the multi awarded Capri Palace, in Capri, and his partner Sara Iannuzzi, asked the architect a preservative restoration of the charme hotel, to be performed in the most absolute respect for the original design of the typical Tuscany farmhouses. The suites, which recall the elegant style of the antique Tuscan houses, maintain the wooden beam ceilings, the wooden floors and the ancient rescued stones and, of course, enjoy a magnificent view of the surrounding hills. The courtyard has been transformed into an elegant outdoor living room, as it was surrounded by the stone buildings of the old farmhouse; a heated panoramic swimming pool and a gazebo in the countryside complete the harmony of the exteriors with stylistic consistency. For the interior design the architect, upon the client’s request, wanted to give a touch of austerity and did it with the intense red color of the sofas and with an arch that, beyond recalling the architectural history of the building, introduces into a warm and cozy corner of the house, the living room, where in summertime the guests are greeted by the fresh air of the ancient stones and in wintertime by the warmth of the large fireplace. The billiard corner tempers the seriousness of this environment and gives and entertaining and, at the same time, intimate atmosphere. The living room, ruled by the warm colors on the walls, by the wooden beams and by the ancient stones, is connected to the central area of the building: a few steps lead to the dining room, while a 1600 staircase leads to the above floor and to the hotel rooms. A touch of elegance and originality, in the dining room, is the large chessboard table placed next to the patio doors onto the garden. This choice points back to a recurring theme of Fabrizia Frezza’s style: to transform the hotellerie projects in more than simple holiday places, giving them and intimate and convivial character that allows guests to feel at home in any time of stay.
